Operator: 戚蕴杰, an individual developer in the People's Republic of China.
Describe the device model, iOS version, app feature, steps leading to the issue, and any error shown on screen. We will respond within a reasonable scope, but do not promise an immediate or fixed response time.
Send a support request safely
You may include the approximate time, reproducible steps, a non-sensitive screenshot, and incomplete purchase identifiers supplied by Apple.
Redact identity documents, complete payment-card numbers, passwords, health information, other people's data, and scanned or learning content unrelated to the issue.
Camera, photos, microphone, and speech permissions
If capture does not work, check Camera access in iOS Settings and confirm that Screen Time or device-management restrictions are not blocking it.
If import does not work, check the app's photo access. When iOS offers limited access, confirm that the target image is selected.
Speech features require microphone or speech-recognition access. If access is enabled but the feature still fails, check the language, downloaded system resources, and network conditions.
Object vocabulary uses the bundled OpenMMLab RTMDet-s FP16 Core ML model to analyze an image you choose on the device. No first-use model download confirmation is required; declining camera or photo access only affects features that need that permission.
Subscriptions and Restore Purchases
Confirm that the device uses the Apple Account that made the purchase, then choose Restore Purchases in the app.
View or cancel through the Apple Account subscription settings in iOS. Removing the app or deleting local data does not cancel a subscription.
Apple reviews refund requests under its process. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase. Eligibility varies by country or region.
Subscription status and local learning content are separate. Restore Purchases does not restore local content, and deleting local content does not cancel the subscription.
Delete local data
Delete individual sentence cards, bookshelves, or other manageable items in the app. To clear all local app data, remove the app through iOS. Preserve anything you need before proceeding.
Local deletion is generally not recoverable. It does not delete Apple's transaction records and does not cancel an active subscription.
The RTMDet-s FP16 model is delivered with the app resources. A normal app update may replace the model version, while Clear local learning data does not remove the model resource; deleting the app removes the app and its resources through iOS.
Privacy and legal documents
The Privacy Policy explains what stays on the device by default, which services receive limited network data, and your deletion and rights options.
The Service and Subscription Terms explain the use license, content responsibilities, auto-renewal, cancellation, refunds, and output limitations.
These site terms are supplemental, and the Apple Standard EULA also applies.
Account deletion
The current release does not create a developer account, so there is no remote ScanLingo account for us to delete. Apple manages your Apple Account.
If an optional remote account is introduced later, we will update the privacy notice before launch and provide an account-deletion path required by applicable law.
Photo translation and contextual review: FAQ
These answers describe the current ScanLingo workflow for personal reading and language study.
- What reading material is photo translation suitable for?
- Use the camera or choose an image from the system photo library. You can review the OCR result before translating or organizing it.
- Can I correct text after image OCR?
- Lighting, clarity, layout, and language affect OCR accuracy. Check the result against the original before relying on it.
- Why connect sentence cards to a book and page?
- Bind recognised material to a book and page number, organise it as sentence cards, and return to that context while reviewing local learning progress and reports.
- Are my study images and cards uploaded to ScanLingo servers?
- Images, OCR text, translations, and learning content are processed and stored on the device by default. Speech-input results are stored on the device by default; the operator does not retain microphone audio.
